DESTIN — After nearly 10 years of business, the Hard Rock Cafe at Destin Commons has closed its doors.
Saturday was the restaurant’s final day in business.
“They’ve taken a different direction corporately,” said Bob Perry, general manager of Destin Commons. “They’re not going to be any small markets, only large cities.”
Hard Rock Cafe opened at Destin Commons on July 2, 2004, about eight months after the shopping center opened.
Perry said mall management has been working on finding a new nationally-known restaurant to take over the 5,500 square foot restaurant space.
Perry said he expects to be able to announce the new restaurant in the next 30 to 60 days. If all goes as planned, the new restaurant would likely open next spring.
“We’re close, but I don’t have anything to announce at this time,” Perry said. “We’ll find something that will be very exciting and new to market and something that will get people’s taste buds excited.”
