A fish fry was scheduled at the Destin Community Center to raise money to help with medical bills for Capt. H.F. “Chubby” Destin who was in Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola for surgery.
Bids were solicited for furnishing space, personnel and all necessary services for a community post office in Miramar Beach.

The first draft of the state Department of Natural Resources recommendation for state ownership of “new land” created by jetty construction and spoil deposits on Holiday Isle recommended that the 1967 shoreline as shown on maps and photos should form the line of all state claims.
Dr. Steve Henry reported to the Destin Chamber of Commerce that the relatively isolated Destin/Santa Rosa Beach area might qualify for federal health care funds.
