City leaders will have a full plate when they gather for back-to-back meetings Monday night at the City Hall Annex.

The council will kick off the evening with the Community Redevelopment Agency Board at 5 p.m., where they are slated to look at a variety of issues, such as streetscape and architectural design standards.

Monday night’s City Council meeting is slated for 6 p.m., and it’s a full agenda. There are two public presentations on the agenda, one from harbor business owner Tom Case, who will ask city leaders to consider changing the hours of alcohol sales in Destin to 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. seven days a week. Currently alcohol cannot be purchased until after 1 p.m. on Sundays, which is a countywide regulation.

The second presentation will be from Ed Schroeder, director of the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Department.

City leaders will also be briefed on potential designs for the cross town connector, as well drainage repairs that we completed along Airport Road and U.S. Hwy. 98 recently.

Three public hearings are on the table Monday night, as the council will consider an ordinance that would prohibit sexually oriented businesses in the Industrial zoned properties that front Airport Road; an ordinance that would prohibit gambling and casinos in the city of Destin; and an ordinance that would revise architectural design standards for portable buildings located in the flood zone.

The meetings will be held in the city hall annex (next to the Destin Dog Park) and are open to the public. For more information visit www.cityofdestin.com.
