Although Tracy Sweetland lives just down the road in Miramar Beach, she doesn’t travel to Destin very often.
However, she had a homeowner meeting Saturday at the Emerald Grande.
That was lucky for her, because the hotel gave out complimentary wrist bands for 7th annual Blues, Brews and BBQ at Harborwalk Village.
She hadn’t made it all the way through the grounds, but when asked about a favorite, her answer was simple.
“The one I’m eating right now,” she said, looking around before noticing the Landsharks Pizza Co. sign.
Saturday’s event was popular with locals and tourists alike.
Al and Elaine Kress were on vacation from Ohio and looking for activities when they heard about the festival. They were glad they did.
“It’s excellent. We’re just starting in,” Al said.
“So far, so good,” Elaine added.
The barbecue offerings from local restaurants set off the blues and brews well, and visitors enjoyed all three.
Leslie Hickman and Renee Christian also were on vacation when they decided to attend the event. They had come down from Georgia to enjoy the weather, the shopping and the views.
“The harbor is beautiful,” Leslie said.
And of course, they were enjoying the BBQ.
“It’s good so far,” Renee said.
