According to a press release, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian accident that occurred Saturday evening and left a Kentucky man in critical condition. Fifty-five year old Richard Marks reportedly stepped in front of a Dodge Durango on Highway 98 in Destin. The accident took place around 5:25 p.m. about 150 feet west of the intersection with Melvin Street.
The car was headed eastbound and the driver told investigators that he did not see Marks until he was directly in front of his car.
Marks was flown by medical helicopter to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola where he is listed in critical condition.
