About 15 charter boats paraded out of Destin harbor Sunday afternoon to pay tribute to Andrew Gillingham, who passed away earlier this year on Jan. 4. The boats loaded with captains, fishermen, family and friends went out in to the Gulf where Andrew, 29, spent most of his time. After Capt. Gary Jarvis of the Backdown 2, the boat on which Andrew worked as a deckhand, said a prayer and interment at sea followed. Roses were tossed on the water and all offered up a toast to Andrew.
