Man dead after odd behavior
A man reportedly died in the hospital after Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies were called because he was running around in circles in the street, screaming.

The 39-year-old Destin man had apparently removed some of his clothing, but was “sweating profusely,” she said.
Deputies reported that the man seemed to be under the influence of a narcotic, based on his behavior. He was not aggressive, but was flailing around and was incoherent.
Deputies were able to restrain him, and he calmed somewhat. His mother was notified and her presence seemed to help, as well, Nicholson said.

Man charged after road rage incident
A 43-year-old Mary Esther man is charged with pointing a gun at an elderly couple while passing them on U.S. Highway 98 entering Destin.

As he passed, he made a hand gesture “simulating a gun,” and then seconds later, displayed a handgun, pointing it at the couple, the report said. He continued on U.S. 98 and the couple called 911.

He was arrested on April 19 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a person 65 years of age or older.

Man accused of trafficking 24 pounds of marijuana

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted a controlled delivery on April 6 after postal workers became suspicious of the package, according to the arrest report. A man, later identified as 30-year-old Jeffery Alan Williamson, was seen pulling up to the apartments that the package was addressed to and accepting the package.
After he accepted the three pounds of marijuana and one pound of THC extract, he was taken into custody, the report said. He allegedly said he had arranged for the shipment three days before.
He said he’d paid the occupant of the apartment $300 to use the address and admitted to having an additional 20 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle. Records also showed Williamson’s license had been last suspended in 2008 and he had prior convictions for driving while his license was suspended in 2009, 2008, 2007 and 2005.
He is charged with driving while his license is suspended as a third or subsequent offense, possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver and smuggling a schedule 1 narcotic into the state.
His next scheduled court date is May 19.
