Children ran back through the doors of Destin Elementary on Monday, but this time it was not to learn about writing or math. With the help of the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, the Emerald Coast Theatre Company hosted a theatre camp for children from second grade to 10th grade.

This week, these aspiring thespians are preparing their own production of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." The Log journeyed over to find out what day one would be like.

The show will be held at Destin Elementary School June 27 at 11 a.m. and is open to the public. Donations are accepted at the door. However, Producing Artistic Director Nathanael Fisher said that it is usually friends and family in attendance.

The next camp in Destin will be held July 13 through 25 and has a focus on musical theatre. At this camp, students will perform Disney’s "Peter Pan Jr."
