Over Labor Day Weekend more than 15 well-known songwriters will take over the HarborWalk Village stage for three days of free performances as part of the Endless Summer Concert Series. The most talented songwriters in country will tell the stories behind the songs that have dominated the country and pop music industry charts.

The fun begins early on Thursday Aug. 29 with a Local Songwriters Showcase. Sponsored by Hwy. 98 Country and Apex radio stations and The Beachcomber, the contest begins with future stars submitting original music online to Highway Country 98.1 WHWY or HarborWalk Village’s Facebook page. The winning prize package includes a performance contract on HarborWalk Village stage and a recording studio session.

The weekend long celebration continues Friday through Sunday with original music, unique art, craft beer and Bourbon tastings along Destin Harbor. These award-winning songwriters have written for such music icons as George Strait, Jason Aldeen, Willie Nelson, Rascal Flats, Faith Hill, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith and Vince Gill.

The most recent line-up at press time included: Bobby Tomberlin, Candi Carpenter, Bill LaBounty, Aaron Barker, Megan Linville, Alissa Moreno, Tim James, Trent Summar, Kendell Marvel, Danny Myrick and Bridgette Tatum.  Nashville-based, these musicians are on the leading edge of the music industry with many of their chart-topping hits.

Headlining on the main stage on Saturday at 8 p.m. is Jim Beam's Emerging Artist, Andy Velo Band. Andy is a rising star in the music industry and has received national acclaim for his southern style original rock and country music.

Lighting up the sky on both Thursday and Sunday night will be HarborWalk Village's famous fireworks shows over the Destin harbor at approximately 9:15 p.m with a dance party immediately following on the main stage.
