Funky Blues Shack

Tea Party

FORT WALTON BEACH - The Northwest Florida Ballet will host a tea party for all the princesses at 3 p.m. Sept. 15 at 310 Perry Ave. SE. In addition to food and games, a crafting session will be held. Tickets are $25/princesses and parents are free, unless they wish to eat. RSVP required in person or call 664-7787.

Artwalk on the Harbor

DESTIN- DestinBoardwalk.com, AJ’s Seafood Restaurant and Olin Marler Charters has announced the inaugural Destin Boardwalk’s Artwalk on the Harbor from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 15. The free art event is a mini arts district and features the work of local and regional artists, along with individuals who create or produce various forms of art, crafts, photography, clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, or perform/sell music. The event takes place in the area starting right below the zipline all the way to AJ’s.

Art exhibit

NICEVILLE - In honor of NWFSC’s 50th Anniversary, the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries presents “From the Vault: 50 years of Collecting from OWJC to NWF State College” Sept. 16-Oct. 12 in the Holzhauer and McIlroy Galleries. Selections from the college’s extensive Permanent Collection showcase the history of art collecting at the college, from the days of Okaloosa-Walton Junior College to Northwest Florida State College. Independent Film Series

DESTIN - The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie night showing “We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks” at 4 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Library.  The program is free and open to the public. Films are unrated and directed toward mature audiences. Seating will be limited to 30 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chronic Jester

MIRAMAR BEACH - Enjoy the reggae, rock, funk and blues of Chronic Jester Tuesdays at Hammerhead’s Bar and Grille, 137 Fisherman’s Cove.

Club LA

DESTIN - Better Left Unsaid will appear Sept. 18 at Club LA as part of the Back 2 School Jam Tour.

Wednesday Night Concert Series

SANDESTIN – The Village of Baytowne Wharf presents Boukou Groove from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Events Plaza. Call 267-8186.

FORT WALTON BEACH - The Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street, SE, presents the works of Dale Gauvin, who specializes in oils, using chiaroscuro, or contrasts between dark and light, in the studio windows facing First Street for easy viewing during September.

Mobbed Up for Murder

DESTIN - Don Provolone orchestrates a meeting at his favorite restaurant with Don Spumoni and Don Cannoli in Act4Murder’s Mobbed Up for Murder from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at Tuscany’s Italian Bistro, 36178 Emerald Coast Parkway. Cost is $50/person and includes ax and gratuity. Call 650-2451.

Backyard Boogie for the Arts

MIRAMAR BEACH – Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast and the Forrest Williams Band present “Backyard Boogie for the Arts” at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at Williams Backyard Boogie, 1921 Chat Holly Road in Santa Rosa Beach. Proceeds from the event will benefit Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast’s Arts in Medicine program.

Tickets are $30/advance and $35/door and are on sale at the Sacred Heart Gift Shop. The public is encouraged to bring chairs, beverages and food; additional food will be available for purchase. Door prizes will be awarded at the event. Call 278-3081 or email sabele@shhpens.org.

Art Walk

FORT WALTON BEACH - The merchants of Downtown Fort Walton Beach host an Art Walk from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 20 on U.S. 98 downtown. Stroll along the streets of Beach where artists will display and sell their local art. Also, food and live entertainment.

 Chronic Jester performs on Ferry Road along with a performance by the girls from Dancelite and magic by Pittman Magic. Fluid Surf Shop sponsors an outdoor surf movie after sunset on the corner of Hwy. 98 and Ferry Road.
