Sara Lierly is working on this 8-piece mural for Destin United Methodist Church and Pastor Barry Carpenter's 8-week program titled "Celebrate Recovery." Each panel of the mural corresponds with a new concept, which Carpenter will present each week of the series. At the end of the 8 weeks, the pieces will make one 8-foot-by-32-foot panorama. The program is not just for those suffering from addiction. According to the church's website, Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who seeks“recovery from life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups through a Christ-centered group.” The program begins the first Sunday in January.
