DESTIN — The Destin harbor has a new restaurant and hangout for locals and tourists.
Coach’s Raw Bar, located at 214 Harbor Boulevard next to the Boathouse, is now open and serving food and drink favorites daily from 11 am until midnight.
Coach’s is named after owner Brad Bradford, a former football staff member of the University of Alabama and the University of Louisville.
The restaurant is a family affair with an ownership agreement between Bradford and his oldest son, Jake, who is currently living in London. The manager is Bradford’s youngest son, Joe Claude Bradford, a popular Destin musician and lead singer for Slack Tide.
“Joe came to me in January with an idea to open an open air bar serving oysters, shrimp and crawfish right on the harbor,” Brad Bradford said. “The location was perfect and after meeting with East Pass Marina owner Todd Porter, the dream became a reality. I have lived in Destin full time for over seven years and this is indeed my own paradise on Earth.”
The open air bar is decorated with sports team’s T-shirts and coach’s quotes gathered by Bradford through his 21 years as a football coach.
Coach’s will also offer live music daily, with their two featured singers being restaurant manager Joe Claude Bradford and Mike Turner of Mike and the Micros. The restaurant also has the Coach’s Party Barge that can be rented by customers.
