Woman facing drug charges after stop for defective headlight
An 18-year-old Destin woman is charged with drug possession after a traffic stop for an inoperable headlight.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies stopped Ashlyn Deige Davis on Commons Drive just before midnight on April 11, according to the arrest report. She was given a verbal warning for the inoperable headlight and agreed to let deputies search her vehicle.
In the center console, deputies found a cigarette pack with two pills, identified as lisdexamfetamine, the report said. Deputies called Fort Walton Beach Medical Center Emergency Room and personnel identified the drug as a form of amphetamine.
When Davis was told deputies had found something, she allegedly asked “the adderol?”
She admitted that the pills belonged to her and that she didn’t have a prescription.
She is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Her next scheduled court date is May 19.
Man facing drug charges after traffic stop
An 18-year-old Destin man is accused of having drugs after a traffic stop for driving without headlights around midnight.
Michael Anthony Helton was pulled over by Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies on April 11 on Harbor Boulevard, according to the arrest report. Deputies noticed the scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle and detained Helton.
Upon search of the vehicle, deputies found a small black bag with six capsules containing methamphetamine/MDMA, the report said. A glass pipe with residue from methamphetamine/MDMA was allegedly found in the trunk of the vehicle.
Helton is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His next scheduled court date is May 19.
Man accused of destroying pill during booking process
A man is accused of destroying a pill found in his pocket after he was arrested for trespassing at Nightown in Destin.
The man, 23-year-old Brandt Michael Ellenberg of DeFuniak Springs, was at Nightown with another man around 3:20 a.m. April 12 when security told them to leave, according to the arrest report. After they refused, deputies working an approved off-duty detail stepped in, telling the two to leave, as they were trespassing.
Ellenberg and the other man left, cursing at the deputies, the report said. The two allegedly returned later, trying to go into Nightown.
They were stopped at the door and arrested.
When they got to booking, a small peach colored pill was found in Ellenberg’s pocket, according to the report. While being booked, Ellenberg allegedly moved toward the counter, taking the pill.
It was “unable to be located” after that.
Ellenberg is charged with two counts of misdemeanor trespassing and one count of felony tampering with or destroying evidence.
The other man is charged with two counts of trespassing and two counts of resisting an officer without violence, both misdemeanors.
Ellenberg’s next scheduled court date is May 19.
