The Destin Community Center was abuzz with activity Saturday morning as the city’s founding families and relatives gathered for the 12th annual Founder’s Day celebration. As part of the celebration, The Primrose and old Destin Post office were officially welcomed to their new home at The Destin History and Fishing Museum.
The Destin Area Chamber of Commerce’s Destin Forward Class chose to partner with the city and the museum to help with restoration efforts.
“This is something we are really proud of,” President and CEO Shane Moody said. “The class itself, they spent hours out here.”
“This is an incredible day for the museum and the city of Destin,” Executive Director Jean Melvin told the crowd.
